Blog-stalkers might recognize Ashley, Brian and their amazing pitbull Layla from their engagement sitting last fall. I met up with them again a couple weeks ago for such a fun maternity session! They are expecting a little girl, Nola! I absolutely Love the name! Here are a few early favorites!
I want to impress each and every one of my clients with the photos I give them, but the pressure is always on when the client is also someone you love! For covering friend and family weddings, I realized a while back that if I want to have any fun (or have any chance of keeping my sanity - have you ever tried hugging people while juggling two cameras??), I have to bring along help! For Kristin and Shaun’s wedding at Our Lady of Victories and the Hilton Back Bay, I got to travel and shoot with my husband Dave (Kristin’s cousin) and my good friend and second-shooter Michelle. People always ask what the bonus of a second shooter is…well that’s simple! Another perspective! And to have both Michelle and Dave shooting away with me, I knew absolutely NOTHING would be missed! Though the weather wasn’t really cooperating with us, it was a wedding day filled with more laughter than I have ever heard, and so much fun to be a part of!!

It’s always a special treat when I get to photograph a wedding rehearsal and dinner! So often this is the night when family and friends are reuniting for the first time in years, and everyone is a bit giddy with anticipation for the big day! So intimate, and SO fun to photograph!! I also have to admit that it’s great to get to know all the people involved a little bit before the wedding day! Just like an engagement sitting makes it easier for the bride and groom to not be so nervous in front of the camera on the wedding day, being around at the rehearsal tends to loosen everyone up a bit for the wedding day, which is always really fun to watch!
Kristin (my cousin) and Shaun (my new cousin) got married in Boston’s Back Bay in May, and had an incredible rehearsal dinner at Legal Seafood. I have to say their basement wine-cellar is an absolutely beautiful place for an intimate party!
Kristin and Shaun, You two seem like you will have one incredible ride of a life in front of you!! I love you both! It was such an honor to be able to photograph your wedding weekend, and I’m so happy you and Shaun are now family!
