Happy Holidays from Devon John Photography!

It can’t be Christmas around here without pecan pie!  From my family’s kitchens to yours, an easy and tasty pecan pie recipe that my mom was wonderful enough to pass along to me (in the cutest way possible, I must say).  Enjoy!

Amazing Grace – An Inspirational Update

I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for the song Amazing Grace, but in 1999 while working at Sotheby’s in New York I had the privilege to attend the opening reception for the Allen Ginsberg memorial sale.  At the reception, all kinds of people shared excerpts from Ginsberg’s work, but the one that has haunted me through the years was Paul Simon, alone with a guitar in hand, singing Ginsberg’s lyrics to Amazing Grace.  After years of searching, I’ve finally found the lyrics – thank you internet!!!
New Stanzas for Amazing Grace

By Allen Ginsberg1926–1997 Allen Ginsberg

I dreamed I dwelled in a homeless place
Where I was lost alone
Folk looked right through me into space
And passed with eyes of stone
O homeless hand on many a street
Accept this change from me
A friendly smile or word is sweet
As fearless charity
Woe workingman who hears the cry
And cannot spare a dime
Nor look into a homeless eye
Afraid to give the time
So rich or poor no gold to talk
A smile on your face
The homeless ones where you may walk
Receive amazing grace
I dreamed I dwelled in a homeless place
Where I was lost alone
Folk looked right through me into space
And passed with eyes of stone

Music at Snipes and WXPN – Music In Morrisville, PA!

Music at Snipes, Run Free Ranch and WXPN have partnered up for this Saturday’s Music Gallup Fest at Snipes Farm in Morrisville, PA.  Music runs from 4PM until 11:30, and should be a fun lineup of musicians!  I’ll be shooting a wedding with the wonderful Michelle from Lucky 17 Photography, but I’m sad I’ll be missing out on John Beacher and Danielia Cotton’s sets, among others!  Looking for something to do Saturday?  This would be my choice!!!

Here are some fun promo photos I put together for Music at Snipes from past shows held on the farm.  Scroll below the photos for more information on the show!!
